.....wild and crazy adventures in Nanaimo
Ya I know long time no post......sorry.
Here's what I've been up to....
So not this weekend but the past weekend I ventured back to Nanaimo to visit Don......and for those who don't know who Don is, he is a very nice man that I have been talking to and seeing for the past ....aaa.....almost 3 months now. One might say ......my boyfriend. Yes I said it, boyfriend....crazy I know !! We have tons of fun together hanging out and going on walks/hikes, etc....well I think so anyways. We made our way to Westwood Lake on Saturday afternoon.....we were SO excited because we read on the Nanaimo Form that there has been some sitings of ....."some weirdo's" around that area and that people should consider taking some kind of "protection" with them. Armed with my camera.....I really wanted to take the gun but I didn't want to freak Don out....hahaha.....off we tootled to walk the lake in search of "weirdo's". Sadly no " weirdo's" were found, although we did walk by a few suspicious looking men's. All and all the walk was really nice. I saw some pretty flowers so took some pictures of them.
Later that day we went over to Don's brother Gary and his fiance Lexie's house for dinner. Gary cooked up some steaks and Lexie prepared the rest of the dinner. I of course sat back and drank and did nothing.......I did offer though. After the delicious dinner we went to check out the movie Blades of Glory.....it was REALLY goooooood, I highly recommend....lots of laughs were had by all.
On Sunday we decided to take a walk up Cottle Hill. At the top are a bunch of Radio Towers that Don's has had the pleasure on more than one occasion and I am sure more will come .....on working on. It was a beautiful view from the top.
Don suggested that we take a trail down the side of the mountain that he was pretty sure linked up to the main road/trail that lead around the other side of it. Well.......lets just say it didn't. As we walked and walked and walked down this "trail" ....personally I thought it was made by the deers and other wildlife that wonders up and down the mountain. Anywho we took a couple turns left then some right then some more left ones and guess what kids..... no main road/trail. YIPEEE !! Note to self....don't let Don lead on any more "trail" walks....hahaha...kiddin. So we headed in the direction that Don thought it may be and back up the mountain. Along the way we hear a crack in the bush......hmmmmm.....oh no.....what could that be. So now we are armed with sticks we walk rather quickly in the opposite direction. Then about 20 or so feet in front of us another crack.......but thankfully it was some deer.....whew......cause if it wasn't I was gona have to push Don at whatever it was and run...hehehe.
We made out way up the side of the mountain back to the top.....yes some scaling of the side of the mountain did occur.....thank god I had on my stretchy jeans on !!! Finally we reached the top......YAY !!
I'm not gona lie to ya .......there was a few moments where I thought me might be campin out on that mountain or at least trying to call for Search and Rescue, which would have been really funny since Don's is doing the course to volunteer (or something) with them......hahaahaa........
All and all the weekend was fun and adventurous.....thanks Don.
Hope you all are doing good and staying kinda out of trouble.
